GBAC STAR™ accreditation for the highest cleaning standard at the Grand Hotel Wien
31 May 2021
The Grand Hotel Wien is now the proud holder of the GBAC STAR™ award. GBAC stands for Global Biorisk Advisory Council, and was developed by hygiene specialists and a working group of trusted medical experts and industry professionals in the USA.
The cleaning industry's only accreditation to date ensures that the participating hotel has implemented a cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention program to minimize risks associated with infectious agents such as the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). It further ensures that proper cleaning protocols, disinfection techniques and work practices are in place to combat biohazards and infectious diseases, as well as that highly informed cleaning professionals are on staff at the hotel who are specifically prepared for infectious disease outbreaks and pandemics.
"We are proud to be able to demonstrate with our accreditation with GBAC that we have established a comprehensive system of cleaning, disinfection and prevention of infectious diseases for our guests, our employees as well as the entire building. With this seal, which is subject to the strictest controls, we can communicate even more thoroughly to our guests and employees that their safety and well-being are our top priority," says Marcus Pieper, COVID-19 Officer.
