It is our great pleasure to announce that the Grand Hotel Wien has been named Austria’s best MICE Hotel for 2021. For the past year the hospitality industry has been crippled by Corona, numerous lockdowns and strict requirements for all  events. At the start of this global crisis, the team here at the Grand Hotel Wien worked tirelessly to develop and rollout a market-leading Covid-19 response programme to ensure the safety of all staff and guests across every aspect of our hotel.

This policy of prevention included a range of hygiene initiatives, safety protocols and security measures, allowing us to operate safely from the very start of the pandemic. Constantly monitored and always evolving, our Covid response continually raised the standards and benchmarks for safety, affording us the opportunity to deliver large-scale events in secure surroundings.

This commitment, coupled with state-of-the-art conference technology, and the first-rate professionalism of all employees ensured we attracted the most prestigious events to our hotel. These included, flamboyant galas for renowned opera singers, along with the world-famous Vienna Atomic Talks - attended by leaders and dignitaries from around the globe.

Our tireless work throughout the year impressed both the international jury for this award and our customers equally... and despite all the challenges faced along the way, we were able to operate at the legally allowed capacity of 20% during a five-month lockdown, as well as a generating a turnover of EUR 860,000 during this time.

All of this together confirms that we are on the right path, and operating at the highest level in the most trying of circumstances.
